The Center for Prevention and Counseling was recently awarded one of three statewide New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services grants to improve upon free recovery supports available, to allow for the creation and enhancement of a Recovery Community Center and to offer social support in Sussex County giving those seeking and sustaining recovery a place to truly belong.
To commemorate the kickoff of the Sussex County Recovery Community Center, celebrity agent, international best-selling author and public speaker, Darren Prince, will present his personal recovery story of redemption and reinvention. Although famous in his own right for having single-handedly built a sports and entertainment marketing empire representing some of the most iconic athletes and celebrities of our time (Prince Marketing Group), Darren believes that his biggest and most important accomplishment is being a person in long term recovery. Darren is 10 years sober, a public recovery advocate, best-selling author and public speaker inspiring others every day to reach for a life in recovery from alcohol and other drugs.
His best-selling personal memoir, “Aiming High - How a Prominent Sports and Celebrity Agent Hit Bottom at the Top.” has overwhelmingly positive reviews with one reader stating, “Darren's book should be part of every college business course. Real life, real situations, real people. If you desire to be sober, Darren Prince is an example that you can make it.”
All are welcome to be part of this special free grand opening kick-off celebration on Tuesday evening, May 14, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. at The Center, 65 Newton-Sparta Road, Newton, NJ, 07860. Light refreshments will be served.
