Vernon Cyclones win championship

The 11U Vernon Cyclones defeated the Mount Olive Marauders, 12-8, Saturday, June 15, for a playoff victory which advanced them to the championship game against the Roxbury Gaels, a game they won, 5-4, on Sunday, June 16 to earn the USABL 11U Central Northwest Division championship.
All they boys played extremely hard this weekend first with a victory over Mount Olive on Saturday with Michael Bello, Luka Savytskyy, Ryan Andriolla, Brayden Consenza, Jayden Chornobroff, Alex Rakowsky, Alex Rodriguez Gavin Bruno, Robbie LaBarbera, and Joe Mancini battling hard offensively and defensively for a huge win.
This win took them to the championship game where Gavin Bruno pitched 5 great innings with 8 strikeouts. Robbie LaBarbera had 2 RBI’s and 2 runs scored. Luka Savytskyy and Heath Babcock had back to back hits to start off a third-inning rally with the team scoring 3 runs. Then in the top of the 6th inning Alex Rodriguez battled the Gaels pitcher and on passed Ball 4, Gavin Bruno scored what turned out to be the game-winning run.
Joseph Mancini came in in the bottom of the sixth, earning the save for the game throwing strikes and keeping the Gaels to 4 runs with Alex Rodriguez ending the game fielding a hard ground ball to throw out the runner at first base.
