Vernon Instrumental Parents host fun run

Vernon Instrumental Parents on June 8 organized its first annual “Color Run Fundsraiser” to benefit the many different instrumental programs within VTSD.
Roughly 70 people actively participated in the fun run. The course ran around the entire walking path at Maple Grange Park in Vernon. Registrants met at the pavilion, walked to the start line, celebrated with a color burst which turned white t-shirts into colorful patterned shirts. A vibrant balloon arch decorated the starting line.
Participants were encouraged to walk or run a loop, or two, or three on the established walking trails. On the furthest trail loop, volunteers were poised at various stations to splash runners with colored water. As the runners passed the starting point for the next loop, volunteers handed out bottled water and amplified music.
Snacks and water were also available at the pavilion at the end of the race. This fun run (as opposed to timed race event) was a public event with all ages and abilities were welcome to participate.
