Lakeland Pools to hold annual toy drive

Lakeland Pools & Spas will hold its 7th Annual Toy Drive through July 26 in memory of Harrison Shauger.
Harrison was born on Aug. 2, 2006 with a Congenital Heart Defect knows as Tetralogy of Fallot. Harrison was well known at the store, in school and around the community for his giant smile and silly demeanor that would steal the hearts of everyone he came in contact with. Harrison lost his battle with his heart condition on March 26, 2013, after multiple surgeries and cardiac catheterizations.
The toy drive is in honor of Harrisons 13th birthday this year. Last year the toy drive took in 1380 toys that were then donated to the Pediatric Center for Heart Disease in Hackensack. Harrison made frequent visits to this very office for heart checks. Every visit he made, he always walked out with a smile and toy in hand as they always had a little something to give to him at the end of his visit. The Shauger family would like to continue putting smiles on these precious children who battle heart disease everyday by doing these donations every year for Harrison’s birthday.
New toys (no stuffed animals please) for ages newborn to teen can now be dropped off at multiple locations again this year until July 26.
