Nature photographers invited to enter contest

Amateur and professional photographers are invited to submit work to the Delaware Highland Conservancy's second annual juried photo contest for the Upper Delaware River region.
The photographs chosen for awards will be exhibited at the ARTery Gallery in Milford this November.
The contest and exhibit is titled “Confluence: Land, Water, and Wildlife." Photographers are invited to submit their striking nature-inspired photos of the region in four categories: landscape, wildlife, water, and macro images.
The contest's mission is to showcase the Upper Delaware Valley's diverse wildlife, plants, and special places. The mission of the conservancy is to save these treasures for future generations.
Photos may be submitted until Aug. 31. The exhibit's reception at the ARTery Gallery will be on Nov. 9. For full contest details, visit delawarehighlands.org/photo-contest.
The judges
A panel of judges will consider each submission's creativity, originality, composition, clarity, quality, and impact. The judges are:
Nancy Kiesendahl Bolch, co-owner and president of Kiesendahl + Calhoun Fine Art, which represents over 50 artists and curates numerous shows in a variety of venues. Bolch serves as a consultant to Woodloch Pines, her family's business.
Mary Sue Sweeney Price is Director Emerita of the Newark Museum, which displays one of the nation’s finest collections of American art. She is past-president of the Association of Art Museum Directors and of the ArtTable Inc. board of directors, commissioner of the American Alliance of Museums, and a director of the Delaware Highlands Conservancy.
David Soete is formerly a senior resource specialist with the Upper Delaware Council and a nature photographer whose images are used regularly by local, state, and federal agencies.
Marta Hallett, president and CEO of Glitterati Editions, is a New York City-based publisher of distinctive fine art, popular culture, fashion, architecture, and photography books.
