Piano students to perform in New York

The Sussex County Music Workshop operated by Margaret and Ed Korczynski has announced that three of its students, Olivier Marseille, Tiffany Van Tassel, and Derek Koch will perform at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall in NY on Nov. 30.

This opportunity was afforded to them through the Walter Engel Festival. Each has donated their talents generously, performing for the residents at Mount Alverno, and Shervier Pavilion in Warwick, NY, and for Project Self-Sufficiency, in Newton

Marseille is a freshman at Warwick High School in New York. He is interested in both the classical and contemporary repertoire. He is working on recording a CD, the proceeds of which will be donated to Project Self-Sufficiency. Olivier will play a Chopin Waltz at Weill Hall. He will also perform at the Sussex County Music Workshop’s Recital in December.

Van Tassel is a junior at High Point High School In Wantage. She has been studying at the Sussex County Music Workshop for three years. In addition to the efforts mentioned above, she also donates her musical talents to the local church. She is also preparing a CD, the proceeds of which will be donated to Project Self-Sufficiency. Van Tassel will play a Chopin Nocturne at Weill hall. She will also perform at the December recital in Warwick, N.Y.

Koch is a Junior at Vernon High school. He has studied with both Margaret and Ed, and is very active in the school band. Koch has also performed in Ringwood at a musical festival operated by Professor Donald Garcia. Derek also plans a CD in the future for Project Self-Sufficiency. Derek will play a Rachmaninoff Prelude at Weill Hall; he will also perform at the December recital in Warwick, N.Y.
