Gary L. Sherwood of Lafayette, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Newton Medical Center. He was 78.
Gary was born in Dover, N.J., to the late Daniel Sherwood and Hazel Clark. He grew up in Dover before moving to Rockaway, N.J., then most recently residing in Lafayette. G
ary was a proud Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an iron worker. Gary was a longtime member of the Sussex County Pool League. He loved hunting and fishing with his good friends, George and Alan. He will be missed by many.
He was the beloved partner of 22 years to Jean Scapicchio. Gary is survived by his siblings, Daniel Sherwood, Margarite Reiter, Patricia Sandillo and Joseph Sandillo.
Along with his parents, he is predeceased by his son Michael Sherwood.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
