Lorraine A. Bertalan of Stockholm, N.J., passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020, at Chilton Medical Center in Pequannock. N.J. She was 79.

Born in Garfield, N.J., to the late Chester and Wanda (Wojnas) Sleker, Lorraine lived in Little Falls, N.J., before moving to the Stockholm section of Vernon Township in 1965. She had been employed by Berlex Laboratories in Wayne for 25 years before her retirement. After her retirement, she remained an active member of the Pace Industries Union.

Lorraine was a member of the Vernon Senior Center and a former member of St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church in Stockholm. She enjoyed spending time playing Bingo and was an avid pool player. She was a very friendly and outgoing person with a love for gardening and animals.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph; son, Darren, of Vernon; daughter, Wendy Quick, and her husband, Blaine, of Vernon; sister, Veronica Brinser of Montoursville, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was predeceased by her brother, Chester Sleker Jr.

A private memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. Private cremation services were arranged by the Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, N.J.
