What started as a small meet between sister gyms separated by a county, has grown to a meet teeming with gymnasts from nearby gyms, hosted 92 gymnasts from 7 gyms in November. It was the 7th anniversary of the Gator Bowl hosted by Giant Gymnastics.
All of the competing gymnasts had a great time and showed off their team spirit, which was the theme of the competition. Giant’s mascot, Gabby Gator helped everyone celebrate at the end of the meet with a mini dance party while they awaited the awards ceremony, and handed out medals, which included awards for the teams with the most spirit.
Sparta’s Garden Gators saw 45 scores starting with a 9, with only 20 gymnasts competing. The Xcel program’s Bronze team placed 3rd, and the Silver team won 2nd place in their division.
Junior Olympic gymnast Kacy Biddiscombe qualified to Level 6, which is the first optional level for the division, and will join fellow Sparta gymnast, Meghan Smith, at their first Level 6 meet in December.
Junior Olympics Level 4 gymnasts Lilly Gretkowski and Molly Compa qualified for their NJ State sectional meet. And teammate Kassidy Neubig took 1st as Beam Queen- which also happens to be her favorite event.
