Library cardholders to receive access to digital Times

NEWTON — Sussex County Library System cardholders now have free, unlimited access to The New York Times Digital Edition through the library’s website, sussexcountylibrary.org.
NYT Digital includes all the content in their daily print edition enhanced with videos, slideshows, and active links to the subjects covered. Free access through the SCLS website also allows readers to instantly comment upon and share articles via social media and email.
In addition to daily content, library patrons can read archived articles dating back to 1851. NYT Digital is available 24 hours a day to Sussex County Library cardholders, and can be accessed from any smart device, no special app required.
Public access via library computers and free Wi-Fi is also available at all six SCLS locations, with the exception of archived articles published from 1923-80.
For avid New York Times readers with no library card and no time to stop by a branch, this is the perfect opportunity to apply for the library’s Digital Pass.
Sussex County residents, workers and students can apply online for a Digital Pass that provides 24-hour access to all the library’s eContent – eBooks, eAudio, free music downloads, a virtual newsstand, research databases and now, The New York Times. Regular cardholders already have this access by typing in the barcode on the back of their library card when prompted to do so.
