Local business pros share stories with students

Vernon. The Vernon Township High School DECA students hosted businessmen, ,who taught them what it takes to run successful businesses.

The Vernon Township High School DECA students hosted a presentation by three local businessmen who talked about the various paths they took to get to their positions.

Youssef Ghantous , food and beverage manager and hospitality expert at Crystal Springs Resort, Robert Shell, a branch manager and finance expert at Valley National Bank and Joe Passalaqua, an entrepreneur/ business and franchise owner of various Sparta Athletic gyms spoke to an auditorium of business students, sharing many stories from their own experiences. Sebastian Grau and David DeGeeter were the DECA officers who hosted event.

The overall message the speakers gave to the students is that if you set your mind to a goal and work toward it, you can achieve anything. They gave tips on how to be more productive and how to identify and overcome weaknesses.
