VERNON — The gardens at Meadowburn Farm were open for self-guided tours on Saturday.
Located on Meadowburn Road, the farm has been owned by the Gerard family since 1930 and is comprised of about 590 acres. The opening was part of the Garden Conservancy's Open Days Program. There were eight attractions open for visitors. • According to event coordinator Quill Teal-Sullivan
“We had over 130 people come through the garden," event coordinator Quill Teal-Sullivan said. "We didn’t know what to expect, having not done an Open Day with the Garden Conservancy before.”
The group is planning a farm dinner for Sept. 27 and they may have another open garden day in the fall. For more information, go to www.MeadowburnFarm.com.
