The Sparta Woman’s Club announced that, despite the pandemic, the hard work and generosity of its members has made it possible to award scholarships to three women.

Sparta Woman’s Club representative Suzanne Belvedere attended the Senior Awards Ceremony at Sparta High School and presented a scholarship to Morgan Denmead. Morgan plans to attend Kutztown University and major in elementary education. Her references described her as being kind-hearted, organized, attentive, and disciplined. All are perfect attributes of the teacher she would like to become.

Sueann Woolery has been a homemaker for 20 years and will be returning to school to further her education in the health care field. She will be studying radiography at County College of Morris and is presently working as a patient safety technician at Newton Hospital. Woolery says furthering her studies also allows her to be a role model for her children as they also continue their education. Sparta Woman’s Club representative Mary Warner presented the scholarship to Woolery at the Project Self Sufficiency campus in Newton.

The Arts and Culture group of Sparta Woman’s Club presented a scholarship art award to Madalena Beller at Sussex County Technical School’s Senior Awards Ceremonies. Maddie is a talented emerging artist who will be attending the Kubert School, majoring in graphic arts and illustration. Kubert School is an accredited art academy located in Dover.

“We wish all of our recipients the very best as they continue their education in their fields, and pursue their chosen careers,” said a statement from the club.
