Baylee Bosma, age 17, of Vernon has won the title of Miss Northern Lakes 2020 on Sept. 21, 2019.

She will compete for the state title of Miss New Jersey in June 2020 alongside other girls throughout New Jersey.

The Northern Scholarship Program is an official preliminary competition to compete at Miss New Jersey and is a part of the Miss America Organization.

Baylee won the People's Choice, in addition to becoming Miss Northern Lakes 2020. For her talent, she performed vocals and ukulele to Colbie Caillat's, "Never Going To Let You down" dedicated to family and friends. She chose this song to remind everyone about the importance of being there for one another.

Each candidate has a social impact initiative in which she chooses to promote during their reign. Baylee's social impact issue is “Love your Lungs.” She desires to share what inspired her to choose this social impact to young adults and teens.

Moreover, being a lifelong resident of Vernon, Baylee wants to highlight the beauty of Sussex County and what it has to offer.
