The Vernon Taxpayers’ Association will sponsor a candidates’ forum on Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Vernon Township High School.
There will be an open seat for mayor and two open seats for council, each with four year terms in the Vernon General Election on Nov. 5, 2019.
The three candidates running for mayor are Howard Burrell, Jean Murphy, and Daniel Storey.
The four candidates running for the two council seats are Kelly Weller, J Scott Ghysels, Margaret Distasi, and Harry Shortway.
The forum will be moderated by the League of Women Voters. The public in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions.
