Robert A. Bahr II

Robert A. Bahr II, of Wantage Twp., N.J. passed away unexpectedly Thursday March 31, 2022. He was 58 years old.

Born and raised in Bellville, he also lived in Bloomfield before moving to Wantage Twp. in 1996.

Son of the late Robert and Mary (nee Capriglione), Robert had attended Saint Peters Elementary School and Seton Hall Prep School before graduating from Bloomfield High School class of 1981. Mr. Bahr had a long career with the New Jersey Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer in the Essex County facility. He volunteered as a Baseball coach with the Wantage Twp. Little League, Rec. League and Travel Team as well as serving as a basketball coach with the Sussex Christian School.

Robert was an avid fisherman who enjoyed competing in many tournaments over the years. One of his favorite places for fishing, boating and vacations with his family was the Bolton Landing area of Lake George, N.Y.

Mr. Bahr is survived in life by his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Judith E. (nee Lay) Bahr, his loving sons Tyler and his wife Leah Bahr of Phillipsburg, N.J. and Garrett Bahr of East Stroudsburg, Pa. He is also survived by his brother Julio and his wife Lucy Capriglione of Toms River, N.J.

Visitation and funeral services were held on April 5 in the Sparta Evangelical Free Church.
