Centenary College’s Student Dance Concert this spring will be titled “The Works in Progress,” highlighting the efforts by the dance students this year and incorporating specific skills that they’ve learned. Performances will be on Friday, May 10 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, May 12 at 7 p.m. in The Sitnik Theater in the David and Carol Lackland Center.

This year will include nine student choreographed pieces and three faculty choreographed pieces. Assistant Professor of Theater and Dance at Centenary College, Lea Antolini of Sparta has encouraged her students to collaborate on several pieces with a variety of themes to showcase not only their skills but also their creativity.

Adjunct Dance instructor, Stephanie Nerbak-Mclaughlin had the students explore their own movement ideas to incorporate in the choreography of her piece entitled “In the Light of Our Loss.” And faculty member Pat Lanciano is letting the audience decipher their own meaning from her piece. Each performance will include a talk-back at the end of the show.

Tickets for “The Works in Progress” are $10 for adults and $5 for children, students and Centenary College students. Tickets may be purchased at the Centenary Stage Company Box Office, by phone at 908-979-0900, or online at centenarystageco.org.
