Highlands State Bank recently donated $650 to the American Heart Association as a result of the bank’s annual National Wear Red Day campaign.

Highlands then matched the more than $300 raised through the generosity of employees and customers at the bank’s Vernon, Sparta, and Totowa locations, and presented a check to Kristen A. Piccolo, regional director for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association.

“Heart disease touches all of us, directly or indirectly,” said Highlands State Bank President and Chief Operations Officer Steven C. Ackmann. “We are happy to be able to help the American Heart Association in its mission to build healthy hearts.”
