Vernon edges Pope John in varsity lacrosse

VERNON — Vernon High School beat Pope John in boys' varsity lacrosse on April 26. The final score was 11-10. The game was played at Pope John in Sparta and was a nail-biter.
The game could have gone either way with both teams playing each other to a standstill. The score remained tight and was tied several times. Vernon managed to edge out Pope John in the final seconds of regulation play.
Travis Pappas scored a team-high five goals for Vernon in the victory.
Dalton Rimmer had two goals with four assists for Vernon while Brian Mills scored once and also had four assists.
Vernon's Kyle McCollough scored three times and had one assist while goalie Anthony Musciotto recorded 16 saves.
