    — Summer is fast approaching and the SpartaArts Committee is carrying on their decades old mission with another great season of concerts. They are proud to present a varied collection of both national and international artists, performing their original music on the stage at the Nicholson Pavilion. Some are familiar favorites, some will be performing for the first time in our corner of the state. Local musicians and young Sparta bands will also be featured at each show as opening acts.
The schedule opens on July 7th with The Milagro Saints, an Americana roots band from North Carolina fronted by British singer SD Ineson. The next week it’s Frank Bang and The Cook County Kings, a smokin’ blues band from Chicago. Soul and blues singer/songwriter/guitarist Kara Grainger is coming all the way from Australia. Also new to the series is Hollis Brown, an American rock’n’roll band on tour this summer, hailing from Queens, NY and named after a Bob Dylan tune.
No stranger to Sparta, folk singer and songwriter Patrick Fitzsimmons will be back thrilling fans. Star of the NJ shore blues scene and an annual tradition here, Billy Hector will be slinging his guitar in August. Danielia Cotton returns with her band to belt out her blend of rock, blues, soul and gospel, and likely invite the kids on stage to sing one with her. Peter Karp and The Roadshow, back from touring in Europe, will close the season with his well-crafted tunes on August 25th.
