Brittany Ast of Glenwood, a graduate of Vernon Township High School, won All-America status by the IWLCA.

Brittany Ast adds a second-team All-America nod to a 2014 resume that includes first-team IWLA All-North Region and First Team All-Northeast-10 honors. The junior defender posted 40 groundballs and caused 30 turnovers this season, guiding the Chargers' backline to an 8.70 goals-against average.

Ast filled out her statline with six draw controls, two goals and three assists.

This spring, New Haven women's lacrosse tied a program record with 16 victories. The 2014 squad also earned the team's highest-ever national ranking at No. 4 en route to its second-ever appearance in the NCAA postseason.
