Two High Point Regional High Point seniors — Gui Zhen Chen and Ryan Sunda — will attend Harvard University in the fall.

Chen, a senior at High Point Regional High School, was accepted at every college to which he applied: Yale, Princeton and Harvard. Gui Zhen's accomplishments in high school are exemplary. He is the valedictorian of his class and an officer in four different honor societies. He is a leading member of the science research club and also participates in the academic team, theatre stage crew, track team, peer counseling, FIRST Tech Challenge, and FBLA. He is active in community service and works in his family's restaurant. Gui Zhen will major in biomedical engineering or electrical engineering with a pre-med track.

Harvard also is the next step for High Point senior Ryan Sunda. Ranked eighth in his class, Sunda maintained a rigorous course load of both honors and advanced placement classes. His academic achievements and co¬curricular involvement earned him a place in the National, Foreign Language, and Math Honor Societies. With plans to major in the biological sciences at Harvard, Sunda is tossed between his desire to pursue a career as a physical therapist or a pediatrician.
