    Ellen R. Hollar, 71, died Friday Oct. 2, 2015, at her home in Vernon surrounded by her loving family and friends. Mrs. Hollar, daughter of the late Robert and Helen Hannagan, was born in Kearny on April 1, 1944. She grew up and resided in Lyndhurst, moving to Vernon in 1976.

    Mrs. Hollar received a BA Degree in Education from William Paterson College in 1966. She was an Elementary School teacher at Hamburg Borough Elementary School for 30 years upon her retirement.

    Ellen was known for her love of family, friends, music and travel, and enjoyed living life to the fullest. She Blessed the Parish of St. Francis de Sales in Vernon for 35 years as the leader of Song/Prayer and as Choir Director. She will be sadly missed.

    Mrs. Hollar is survived by her children, Bill Hollar and his wife, Heather, of Wantage and Beth Hollar and her husband, Dino Peros, of Pipersville, Pa.; sister, Lorraine Vendola of Parsippany; grandchildren, Garrett, Logan and Ty Hollar as well as her niece, Lorri Vendola of Parsippany.

    A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday Oct. 10, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales RC Church 614 Rt. 517 Vernon. Private cremation will follow. A visitation will be held at the Church on Friday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mustard Seed Migrant Ministry, 357 Mt. Eve Road Goshen, NY 10924.
