Patrick Joseph Wylie, 68, passed away at Newton Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015. He was the son of the late Joseph John and Catherine (nee King) Wylie. He was born in Paterson on Dec. 6, 1946. Patrick was a resident of Hawthorne, Vernon Township and for the last 10 years, Hardyston.

Patrick served honorably in the United States Army from 1964 thru 1967. He was a truck driver for the Kraft Corporation for over 25 years, and more recently was a machine operator for Sussex Technologies before retiring in 2010.

Patrick was predeceased by a son, Joseph John Wylie in 1969.

Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Barbara Anne (nee Preswich) Wylie, and his two children, Dawne Babcock and her husband, Terry, of Franklin and Michael Wylie and his, wife, Sharon, also of Franklin, as well as his 4 cherished grandchildren, Paedyn Bryce and Terryn Zayne Babcock and Deven Joseph and Ryan Patrick Wylie.

Patrick’s funeral services were conducted at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home Rt. 94, Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Ct.) on Monday Oct. 26 at 10 a.m., committal interment services at the North Hardyston Cemetery. Relatives and friends were received at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 25, from 2-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to NMC Foundation c/o Better Breathers Club in memory of Patrick Wylie, 175 High Street, Newton, NJ 07860 or the Hamburg Fire/EMS services would be appreciated.
