William C. Ritzer

    William C. Ritzer of Vernon, N.J.s and a lifelong resident of the area passed on April 4, 2016. He was 90 years old.
    Born on August 18 1925, he was the son of the late Sandford P. and Rose (nee Bernstien) Ritzer.
    He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy, (nee Weaver) in 2003.
    Mr. Ritzer was a maintenance mechanic for International Nickel in Sterling Forest and prior to that worked for Gorduns in Goshen for over seventeen years. Bill raised game birds, including pheasant’s, quails, partridge and an occasional peacock as well as was a apiarist for many years.
    A family statement reads “If he couldn’t fix it, it wasn’t broken.”
    He is survived by his son, Lawrence Ritzer, and his wife, Barbara, of Vernon, N.J., granddaughter Dawn Di Lascio and her husband, Joseph, of Highland Lakes, N.J., and two great-grandchildren Austin and Aiden. Also surviving is his brother, Robert Ritzer, and his wife, Ethel, of Vernon, N.J.
    Visitation was on Thursday, April 7, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, N.Y. Funeral service will be 8:30 p.m. Cremation will be private.
