The Vernon Township Athletic Department named Tori Waschek and Nik Polizos for Week 5 of the fall season.
Waschek, a sophomore, is in her first year as a varsity field hockey participant but according to Coach Killeen, you would never know it.
Coach Killeen says that Tori portrays an unteachable calmness on the ball that typically comes after years of experience. Her ability to read the play is tremendous and grows with each game she plays.
She has been named game MVP twice within the last two weeks.
Polizos, a senior captain on the boys soccer team, team has led the Vikings this year with his demeanor and dedication that is typical of a team leader. The team went 3-0 this past week including a 3-1 first round win over Voorhees in the (HWS) Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Tournament.
Coach Jones states that Nik’s experience as a 4-year starter at the varsity level is a great attribute. Nik strives to not only improve himself and his team, but the program as a whole.
