Betty Lynn Goodsier (nee George), 73 years old, died after a long illness at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, N.J. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016. Born to Henry N. and Susan George in Paterson, NJ, she lived in Paterson before moving to Vernon Twp., N.J., in 1982 and then she settled in Highland Lakes, N.J. in 1992.
Betty worked as a manager for A.T.&T. in Basking Ridge, N.J. for 36 years retiring in 1997. Betty was a licensed Emergency Medical Technician and was an active member and Captain of the Vernon Twp. Ambulance Squad for 17 years. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima RC Church and a member of the Rosary Society, worked for the Vernon Twp. Election Board and enjoyed crocheting, trips to the casinos and travelling.
Betty is predeceased by her siblings, Henry N. George, Jr., Mary E. Patnode, Susan Flock, Collette Worbel and John F. George and was the beloved wife of Daniel H. Goodsier, Sr. of Highland Lakes, NJ. Devoted mother of Daniel H. Goodsier, Jr. and his wife, Maribel, of Bloomfield, NJ, Margaret Standaert and her husband, Charles of Vernon Twp., N.J., and Jerome Goodsier and his wife, Angela of Vernon Twp., NJ. Loving grandmother of Matthew, Daniel, Jackie, Alyssa, Patrick and Charles. Cherished by many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive their friends at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home, 241 Route 94(1 Vanderhoof Court for GPS), Vernon, N.J., on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 from 3-8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes, NJ at 11 a.m. Cremation is private.
