Richard W. McCrum, 80, passed away on Saturday Dec. 24, 2016. Richard was born in Paterson was raised in Nutley, and was a resident of Bloomingdale and Rockaway Township before moving to Highland Lakes 32 years ago.
Richard served in the United States Army during peacetime. He was the owner operator of Richards Auto Sales in Bloomingdale for 35 years retiring in 2003. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Denville String Band, he also enjoyed boating and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara A. (nee Fritz) McCrum, and his daughters, Karen Tonnesen and her husband Rick, Linda Flanigan and her husband Larry, Jacqueline Dolan, and Cathy Decker and her husband Greg, and his grandchildren Jessica, Kristin, Jennifer, Brian, Michael, Megan and Erin, and his three great grandchildren, and his siblings, Eleanor Koebel, Leonard, McCrum, and Marie Munson, and his many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends will be received on Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 4-8 p.m. at the Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94 Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Ct.) and will be received at the funeral home on Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial Service at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church, Highland Lakes, NJ, committal and interment service at Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations to Our Lady of Fatima Church 184 Breakneck Rd. P.O. Box 242, Highland Lakes, NJ 07422 would be appreciated.
