Vernon honors outstanding athletes

The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. honored its athletes of the week for the fourth week of the winter season.
Senior Pat Weiss placed third overall at the ESU Warrior Classic with a time of 2:01.8, which is a new Vernon indoor track Record by 2.2 seconds.
This is also a top 10 time in the state and first in Group 2.
Pat is a 3-year indoor track team captain and one of the leaders of this year’s team according to Coach Saganiec.
Senior Kaitlyn Ambrose recently broke the school record for the indoor track High Jump at Rockland County Community College with a jump of 5 feet. She also just placed 4th at the ESU Warrior Classic and was a member of the 4x200-relay team that placed 6th against some stiff competition from PA and NJ teams.
According to Coach Saganiec, Kaitlyn is a hard-working and dedicated member of the team who always works well with her teammates and pushes each one of them to succeed.
