Vernon honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High School Athletic Dept. nanmed its athletes of the week for Week 9 of the spring 2017 summer.
Senior Patrick Weiss has been a three-year captain for the boys track team. He recently became the North 1 group 2 Champion in the 800m that took place at River Dell High School. He then went on to compete in the Group 2 Championships and finished in the Top Ten.
Patrick will continue his Running career at Salisbury University this fall.
According to Coach Saganiec, Patrick has been one of the hardest working runners we have ever had in the program.
Sophomore Natalie Alheidt has been a consistent contributor to the NJAC Freedom Division Champion softball team this season.
She batted .457 with an on base percentage of .786. She has been clutch defensively all season playing multiple positions and she has started every game this season.
According to Coach Ludeking, her knowledge and ability on the field is superb and she excels in the classroom as well. She is a leader on and off the field.
