Brenda Joyce Covert

SPARTA — Brenda Joyce Covert (nee Van Tassel), 76, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017. She was born on April 29, 1941, in Hardyston Township and lived the past 56 years in Sparta, daughter of the late John and Martha (nee Faber) Van Tassel.
Brenda was a seamstress at Morley’s Shirt Company in Franklin for 35 years and was an aid for Easter Seals of New Jersey in Franklin for five years, retiring 15 years ago.
Brenda was predeceased by her parents and a son, Mark.
Brenda was the loving wife to Russell E. Covert for 60 years, loving mother of Russell E. Covert Jr. of Sparta and Richard Covert and his wife Rhonda of Dayton, Ohio, and Patricia Taney of Conifer, Colo., cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and devoted sister to Martha Goodoud, Beverly Wiley, Gloria Heggie, Joanne Hicok, Jerry Van Tassel and Debra Van Tassel, and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
