    Edith P. Hopper, age 87, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at her home. Born and raised in New York City to the late Hector and Theresa (Kennedy) Detloff, she had lived in Lehigh Acres, Fla., before returning to New Jersey. She was predeceased by her three husbands, who were all veterans; George Olsen, Sr., Lambert Gustov Johanson, and Henry Hopper and her brother, Gerald Grover. Mrs. Hopper was an Auxiliary Member of the American Legion Post #2017, an Auxiliary Member of the Elks Lodge, and an Auxiliary Member of the Moose Lodge all located in Lehigh Acres, Fla. Mrs. Hopper is survived by her daughters, Mary Olsen of North Carolina, Ingrid Johanson of Florida, Olga Grubic of Wantage, and Grace Rhinesmith of Jefferson; her sons, George Olsen of Vernon, Michael Olsen, Sr. of Franklin, and Lambert G. Johanson, Jr. of Vernon; her sister, Barbara Hall of Bluffton, South Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. at the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex on Monday, Oct. 9, 2017 with the Rev. Brian Quinn, officiating. Friends may pay their respects to the family on Monday prior to the service from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at the Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y.
