Vernon honors outstanding athletes

The Vernon Township High School Athletics Dept. reently honored its outstanding athletes for Week five of the fall 2017 season.
Junior Goalie Emma Cahill had 3 shutouts last week in field hockey, including a 17-save performance in an upset win over Hackettstown. For the week, she had a total of 24 saves with wins over Pope John and Morris Hills.
Through 13 games on the season, she has a total of 99 saves and 6 shutouts.
Mike Stefkovich had a monster game on both sides of the Football last week in the Vikings narrow loss to Mendham.
He had 28 carries for 170 yards rushing offensively. On defense, he had 4 tackles, 2 solo tackles and 1 interception. Mike is one of the captains for this year’s football team.
