Virginia K. Bross

    Virginia K. Bross, 90 years old, died after an extended illness at Barn Hill Care Center on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Born to Andrew V. Kelly and Sadie Sanders Kelly in Hamburg, N.J., having lived most of her life in Sussex, N.J.
    Virginia worked at Morley Shirt Company in Franklin, N.J., for many years until her retirement 28 years ago. She was an avid New York Mets fan and barely missed a game. On a bowling league, called “The Sexy Seniors”, she was an accomplished bowler until she was 88 years of age. She loved to dance, garden, and spending time with her family. Her love and devotion to her family was unconditional and without boundaries. A woman of great strength, and a gentle soul, who through many harsh realities of life continued to always have a kind word, love and compassion for others.
    Virginia is predeceased by her husband, Henry W. Bross (1965) and her son, Lee D. Bross (2001). Her siblings, Marjorie Osborne, Timothy Kelly, Mary Hartly, and, Geraldine Dolsay.
    Virginia is the loving grandmother of Michael Bross and his wife Adrienne of Henryville, Pa., and Amanda Bross Schappert and her husband, Philip, of Wading River, N.Y. She was a beloved great grandmother of Ariandne, Noah, and Georgia, and a lifelong companion and best friend to her dear twin sister Vivian “Kitty” Sparta of Franklin, N.J. She is also survived by her niece, Luann Riker of Florida, who Virginia raised as her own daughter, and several other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
    The family will receive their friends at Ferguson Funeral Home, 27 Third Street, Sussex, N.J., for memorial visitation on April 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. Service at 3:30 p.m. Followed by a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, Sussex, N.J.
