VERNON — Lakeland Regional High School defeated Vernon Township High School in girls varsity lacrosse on Saturday, April 7. The final score was 15-8.
Lakeland and Vernon were locked in a tie in the second quarter. But Lakeland got the ball to hit the net resulting in a 6-5 lead by 22:19. From that point the Lakeland Lancers continued to pull away.
Devyn Tanajewski scored five goals for Lakeland (4-1). Danielle Downey and Samantha Jost scored one goal and made four assists apiece. Kendall Lomascola scored three goals. Kaylie Sheehan and Kaitlyn Collins both scored twice. Kailey Stocker also scored and Sarah Deighan had an assist to go with four saves. Jost led the team with nine ground balls.
