Carolyn Mae Church, age 75, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hamburg to the late Walden and Dorothy (Belcher) Lewis, Carolyn lived in Sussex County for most of her life. She had been employed as a presser for the former Morley's Shirt Company in Franklin before her retirement. Mrs. Church was a former amateur wrestler in the 1960s. She was a crafter and would sew many items by her own hands. She was co-owner of the Painted Lodge, an American Indian Craft business with her daughters. Mrs. Church loved all animals. She was family oriented and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren.
She was was predeceased by her husband, Oather Church in 1997; her brother, Waldon Lewis and her two sisters, Patsy Carr and Regina Nelson. Mrs. Church is survived by her two daughters, Connie L. Stockland and her husband, Michael, of Mt. Cobb, Pa., and Carol M. Church and her husband, John, of Wantage; her brother, Dave Lewis of Wantage; her two sisters; Sheila Drake of Otisville, N.Y., and Joanne Nicholson of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Destiny, Dakota, and Dusty.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at North Hardyston Cemetery. Funeral arrangments are under the Pinkel Funeral Home, 31 Bank Street (Route 23), Sussex In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the family or to the funeral home to help defray the costs of the funeral.
