Dolores G. Sammis

Dolores G. Sammis, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 20, 2018. Dolores was born on Dec. 6, 1930, in Franklin, N.J., to Edward and Eva (nee Peacock) Winters. Dolores was a longtime resident of McAfee.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents and her beloved husband Leo C. Sammis Sr. She was also predeceased by seven siblings.
During their 57 years together, Dolores and Leo co-owned and operated Sammis Brothers Produce farm.
She is survived by her son, Leo C. Sammis Jr. and Jennifer of Centre Hall, PA and her daughter Kathy Colasurdo and her husband Joe of Sussex. She is also survived by her three cherished granddaughters; Stefanie Lynn Colasurdo, Leigh Ann Gagnon and Gina Nicole Colasurdo. She is also survived by Leigh Ann’s husband Jarod and many nieces and nephews. Dolores was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her 1st great-grandchild in August.
Dolores was affectionately known by many names; Mom, Nana, Grandma and Aunt Dodo. She will be missed by everyone that had the privilege to know and love her.
Relatives and friends will be received at Ferguson-Vernon Funeral Home 241 Rt. 94, Vernon, NJ (GPS use 1 Vanderhoof Court) on Tuesday July 24th from 4-8 p.m., funeral service at funeral home on Wednesday July 25th at 11AM interment at North Hardyston Cemetery.
