VTHS honors outstanding athletes

VERNON — The Vernon Township High school Athletic Dept. honored its outstanding athletes for the fall 2018 season.
Senior Captain and quarterback RJ Mehr was 9 for 21 with 70 yards passing and had one TD this past week against High Point. He also rushed 8 times for 70 yards.
According to Head Coach Steve Down, RJ has tremendous leadership and dedication, which is very influential to the entire football program.
He brings great effort and attitude to each practice.
Junior Catherine McCabe scored 4 goals and had two assists for the girl’s soccer team last week in wins over North Warren and Lenape Valley.
According to Coach Carlson, Catherine is a tireless worker with exceptional skills and a great attitude. She will do anything to help the team. Catherine is also a member of the varsity swim and track teams.
The varsity squad’s record is now 8-2 as they host Voorhees this Friday night in the 2nd round of the HWS tournament.
