The Vernon Vikings Youth Football Rumble team joined forces with the High Point Hawks in an effort to bring cheer to children and teens in Sussex and Northern Warren Counties this holiday season.
Families from both teams came together to collect toys for the Season of Hope Holiday Toy Drive, an annual program organized by Project Self-Sufficiency. Collectively, over 100 toys were gathered. Project Self-Sufficiency is a non-profit organization serving individuals and families in the New Jersey counties of Sussex, Hunterdon, Warren and Morris. Tony Mastroeni with the High Point Hawks helped spearhead this initiative at the Rumble game on Nov. 11.
According to head coach, Nick Lynn “Being a teammate and good sport is more than what you achieve on the football field. We make it a priority to teach our boys that giving back and caring for others is just as important as winning. We are proud to have connected with Tony and the High Point coaches to get the teams together and give back to our communities, bringing cheer to local families in need this holiday season.”
