Edward (“Pop”) J. Egan of Andover Township, N.J., died Monday, June 7, 2021, at home. He was 73.

He was born on Aug. 9, 1947.

Pop worked in the wastewater department for Passaic Valley Water Commission for many years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era. He enjoyed puzzle books and going on cruises. Pop was a Facebook celebrity among family and friends. He had a larger than life personality and a unique sense of humor. Pop may have always busted your chops, but it was done with unconditional love for his family and friends. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, especially the apple of his eye, Abigail.

Pop leaves behind his beloved companion, Katie Isgro; his daughters, Shannon Karmazsin and husband, Stephen, and Robyn Paglia and Paul Giancola; his grandchildren, Abigail Paglia and Constantino “Gus” Giancola; and his dogs, Lola and Rielly and grand-dogs, Skippy, Gina, and Rollz.

A special thank you to Janine and Chris DeHagara and CJ Steele for all their unconditional care, love, and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, Newton, N.J.
