Jay ”Rocky” Rockafellow of Inverness, Fla., peacefully passed away on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at his residence. He was 73.
Born June 12, 1950, in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., to the late Edward and Reita (Ostrander) Rockafellow, Rocky lived in Sussex County for most of his life before moving to Inverness in 2021.
Rocky was a Local 15 union carpenter for 35 years.
He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Sussex Elks Lodge and enjoyed golfing, motorcycles and his Corvette.
He was married to his high school sweetheart, Donna Holleran Rockafellow, for 53 years.
Besides his wife, Rocky is survived by his daughter, Stacey Pochis and her husband John; his son, Jay B. Rockafellow; his granddaughters, Jaylin, Jacklyn and Payton; his sisters, Donna Rockafellow Saletto and Bonnie Scott and her husband Wayne; his brother, Gene Rockafellow and his wife Karen; his brother-in-law, Jay Holleran and his wife Nancy; and his sister-in-law, Connie Holleran Domicolo and her husband Brian. He was adored by many other family members.
