Richard A. DeSenna passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was 92.

Dick was born on Aug. 27, l928, in Sussex, N.J., to the late Dora (Sturdevant) and Abel DeSenna. He was married to Miriam Patricia Walker for nearly 50 years and to Joyce Moore for the past 20 years.

Dick spent his early years living in Sussex on his grandparents’ dairy farm. He went on to travel the world, first in the U.S. Army and later as a successful business executive for Miles Laboratories and Bayer. After retiring, Dick lived in New Jersey, Georgia, and more recently in Indiana. Always the worker, he was actively involved in several successful business ventures in his retirement. He was an expert marksmen and enjoyed being a member of the Ridgewood Pistol Club. He thoroughly enjoyed his hobbies of fishing and woodworking and spending time with his Labrador retrievers.

Besides his parents, Dick was predeceased by his first wife, Miriam Patricia Walker; and his brother, James Robert DeSenna.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughters, Patricia Bialek (Jim) of San Diego, Calif., and Donna (Paul Reid) Walker of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Katelyn (Evan) White, Megan Walker, Lisa (Scott) Owen, and Traci (Mike) Sutter; and great-grandchildren, Dallas and Lee, Scotty and Campbell, and Charlie and Will. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Jennifer Foy; and step-grandchildren, Nick, Tyler, and Allison.

Visitation was held March 30 at Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex, where funeral services followed. Burial was in the Beemerville Cemetery in Wantage, N.J.
