Walter Joseph Muller III passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was 71.

Son of the late Walter J. Muller II and Gladys (Cooper) Muller, he was born and raised in Bergenfield, N.J. Wally moved to Sussex County after his service in the Navy as a mechanical engineer, serving on the USS Intrepid during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 157 in Branchville, N.J. Wally was the proud owner of Ross’ Corner Exxon for 17 years. He later obtained his realtor’s license and helped many people purchase their “happy homes.” Wally was proud to be a part of the Weichert team in Sparta. He loved to travel, camping up and down the East Coast. Wally loved live music, and was always going to festivals, taking great pride in volunteering at Clearwater Festival. He was also a handyman, constantly working on projects.

Wally is survived by his sister, Beverly Rentler; brothers, Donald and Paul Muller; daughters, Theresa Munguia and Samantha Muller; sons, Daniel Muller and James Muller; grandchildren, Tiani Munguia, Destin Muller, Dani Munguia, Darien Stone Munguia, Dylan Muller, and Slade Muller; and partner of “13 years 1 month and 20 days,” Carol Ann Skelenger.

A celebration of life will be held sometime in the spring.

The family requests that donations of non-perishable “fun” food items or monetary donations be sent to the Bodhi Monastery Food Pantry located at 67 Lawrence Rd, Lafayette, NJ.
