Emma Cahill and Keirra Doyle, both graduates of Vernon Township High School and Michaela Thiessen, a graduate of High Point Regional High School were all members of the Centenary University field hockey program this year.
Doyle, a sophomore midfielder started in all 16 games and had registered a goal and three assists.
Cahill, a freshman goalkeeper listed as an Education major, played in 11 games and made 24 saves. Thiessen, a freshman forward listed as a Film major, tallied four goals and five assists for Centenary.
The Cyclones had an overall record of 6-10, with a mark of 4-1 on their home field. In the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) they went 3-3. They advanced to the CSAC Tournament where they lost to Keystone College in a contest held in La Plume, Pennsylvania.
Nik Polizos (Vernon High School) was a junior midfielder for the Centenary University men’s soccer team this fall. Polizos played in 15 games and started in 10 of them for Centenary. He had a goal and an assist this year.
The Cyclones had an overall record of 7-11-1 with three wins on their home field. In the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) they posted a record of 6-1. Centenary advanced to the CSAC Tournament where they were defeated on penalty kicks by Rosemont College in a game held in Hackettstown. Polizos is listed as an Education major.
Jill Pullis (Vernon High School) was a junior midfielder for the Centenary University women’s soccer team this past season. Pullis, listed as an Education major, started in all 17 games and posted three goals and six assists for Centenary.
The Cyclones tallied an overall record of 8-8-1 with a mark of 5-4-1. In the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) they had a record of 8-1. Centenary advanced to the CSAC Tournament where they lost to Cairn University in a match held in Hackettstown.
Michael Stefkovich (Vernon High School) was a freshman linebacker for the Montclair State University football program this fall. Stefkovich played in eight games and totaled 17 tackles (12 solo). He also forced a fumble.
The Red Hawks had an overall record of 6-4 and they were 3-1 on their home field. In the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) they went 5-2.
