100 Years of Broadway at Community Theatre

    Morristown — A cast of five Broadway veterans perform the most memorable music from Broadway’s greatest shows when The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts presents Neil Berg’s 100 Years of Broadway on Friday, Jan. 15, 2010 at 8 p.m.. Tickets are $37-47 ($57 Golden Circle). Scheduled to perform are Rita Harvey, Carter Calvert , Robert DuSold, Jeremy Kushnier and Ray MacLeod. (cast subject to change) 100 Years of Broadway recreates the biggest moments from the biggest shows of the century. It features Broadway performers from shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Jesus Christ Superstar and Jekyll and Hyde lighting up the stage with songs from the hit shows in which they starred. Neil Berg presents brilliantly revived arrangements of Broadway classics as well as fantastic numbers from Broadway’s newest hit shows. Neil Berg is the composer/lyricist of the hit off-Broadway musical The Prince and the Pauper, which ran for two years at the Lamb’s Theater in New York City. Two of Berg’s new musicals have been selected for the prestigious New York Musical Theater Festival: The Man Who Would Be King, a musical realization of Rudyard Kipling’s novella, and Tim and Scrooge, the sequel to A Christmas Carol. Works in development include Temptation with collaborators Michael Leeds and three-time Emmy-nominated songwriter John Forster. He is also currently writing the new musical Twelve, a rock musical about the Apostles.
