Beemerville — The Beemerville Presbyterian Church on County Route 519 will celebrate its 175th anniversary on Sunday, May 3 beginning at 2 p.m. “This church has a rich and vibrant history,” said Pastor Charles Jenkins, “After all these years its Christian spirit is still strong. I think of it as the family church at the foot of the mountain.” Jenkins and the congregation will present a history of their church, and sing traditional hymns. Former pastors Beverly Karr-Lyon and Robert Walters will speak on their memories of the church. The bell choir from the Sussex Presbyterian Church will perform, including a duet by Janet Jenkins and Stephanie Jacobs. Members of the congregation will dress in historical costumes from many different eras 1834 to present day. Refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall.
