Activist will speak at church

Sparta Anna Baltzer, a human rights activist, will present “Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories and Photos” at the Sparta United Methodist Church on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. Currently on a speaking tour, Baltzer has taught in Turkey and journeyed to Palestine as a volunteer for the International Women’s Peace Service. A Columbia University graduate and Fulbright scholar, she is the author of “Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories.” The program is co-sponsored by the Church and Society Committee of the Sparta United Methodist Church and the Northwest New Jersey Peace Fellowship.
