Sugar Loaf, N.Y. — When jazz critics talk about “The Dream Team” or “The Trio Made in Heaven,” essentially the platonic jazz trio, it brings to mind the next exhilarating presentation slated for the evening of June 6 in Sugar Loaf, New York’s newest restaurant, Uptown’s Blue Ribbon. The Adam Nussbaum All Star Trio makes an extremely rare appearance on its home turf for one performance only, 8 p.m. Admission is $20. Seating is limited and show reservations are necessary at 845-258-5299. For dinner reservations, call 845-469-4405. The Adam Nussbaum All-Star Trio includes Jay Anderson on bass and Vic Juris on guitar. Nussbaum received most of his musical education in Manhattan. Aside from his performance schedule, he also teaches at New York University and SUNY/Purchase. He lives with his family in Orange County, N.Y. Anderson is in much demand, and is the bassist of choice for singer Celine Dion on her Grammy Award-winning recording, Falling Into You. New Jersey guitarist Juris will be making his third appearance for Sugarloaf Music. He has appeared for Sugarloaf Music with bassist/educator Harvie Swartz and with vocalist Janet Lawson for Sugarloaf Music’s Women in Jazz Festival at Orange County Community College. He was first influenced by Chuck Berry. For further information, visit Sugarloaf Music’s Web site, www.sugarloafmusic.org . Tickets for Sugarloaf Music events may be purchased at Village Music on Main St. in Warwick and at Van Gelder Music, Route 17M, Monroe.
