An evening of nostalgic songs

Newton — La Baita Cucina Italiana will present a nostalgic night of songs made famous by Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, on Friday Feb. 27 starting at 7 p.m. Performed by Steve and MJ, the music will feature a mix of male and female vocals and duets along with piano and big band sounds. Steve is a long time fan of Frank Sinatra and performs Sinatra’s classic songs by Cole Porter, Johnny Mercer, Sammy Cahn and Ira Gershwin. Likewise, MJ’s appreciation of Ella Fitzgerald and Billy Holiday is captured in her soft, easy jazz rendition of such songs as “Lullaby of Birdland,” “Can’t We Be Friends,” “Nice Work if You Can Get It,” and “God Bless the Child.” Dinner is available from La Baita’s extensive menu of classic and innovative dishes.
