Art in the classroom

Art by Joanne Portner’s fifth-grade classes at Lounsberry Hollow Middle School have been featured at the Vernon Township Board of Education Office. The watercolor paintings were created as still life studies using the technique of Henri Matisse. The students painted stuffed birds and then added patterns found in the classroom. The young artists are: Nick DeMattheis, John Frey, Julia Giarratano, Bethany Goodrich, Lilianna Gorman, Lauren Incarnato, Ryan McNeil, Emily Monschauer, Troy Perry, Cassie Roeloffs, Ben Schmick, Shannon Scully, Brendan Shine, Sydney Thomas and Danielle Ward.
